LINKS WITH St PETER's CHURCH
The school is an Aided Church of England Junior School and means the Church of England own the site and the buildings. The C.E stands for 'Church of England.' The 'VA' stands for 'Voluntary Aided' which relates to the amount of control the school governors and Church have in running the school. Members of St. Peter's church (Littleover) are on our governing body and these governors have a majority on the Board of Governors. The Christian faith is valued and practised and Reverend Alicia Dring, Vicar of St Peter's Church, visits our school on a weekly basis, to lead a Collective Worship assembly each week. The emphasis of Religious Education (RE) teaching is on the Christian faith, whilst we also teach our children about other faiths and cultures. All children are presented with a Bible as a gift from St Peter's Church on entry to Year 3 and at the end of Year 6. Parents and carers are invited to our beginning and end of term services, which are held in St Peter's Church, as well as special celebrations throughout the year.
