We have had an excellent first term. Everybody's hard work and effort has seen the class make considerable progress across the curriculum.
Our second topic for this year is Space: the final frontier. During this topic we will be learning about: Our solar system, the Earth, Sun and Moon, and the history of space travel.
Our first English unit will be Poetry, during which we will create poems using similes, metaphors, and personification. We shall then be creating recounts based upon the experiences of the first astronauts and the Moon landing.
For Art we will be creating works of art inspired by the artist Peter Thorpe, the focus being a development of the understanding of abstraction within art. The end result will be a mixed media art work, showcasing the children's individual interpretation.
In Science we shall be learning about the relationship between the Earth, Sun and Moon.
In PE we will be focusing on developing our tactics and skills, in a range of invasion games: Netball, Bench ball and, Dodge ball. Mrs Gallimore will also be teaching a unit on Health and Fitness.
Our RE topic this term is learning about how people put their faith into action?
PE will normally be on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning.
Spellings will be given out on Fridays and tested the following Thursday.
Please remember to keep practising your MET targets at home and let us know as soon as you are ready for your end of continent test.
