Clay Dragon Eyes

Published on 21 October 2019

The children designed and made dragon eyes using air drying clay.

We designed our eyes in our art books and then set about making our eyes into clay models.

We used the clay tools to help us to mark the clay so that we could join pieces of clay together.

We learnt about slip and how to use it to help with the joins and that there was no such thing as too wet!

We talked about the way that the clay would dry and that if the clay was different degrees of wet that as it dried cracks would form leading to a disaster!

We then painted our eyes and we are really pleased with them.
