During our science lesson on Wednesday we looked at the different food groups and the nutrients that are contained in foods. We realised that there are lots of different nutrients in lots of foods and that they have different purposes.
We discovered that:
Carbohydrates and fats give us lots of energy.
Protein helps our body repair itself and grow.
Water helps move the nutrients around our body so it is a good idea to drink water to stay hydrated too.
Vitamins and Minerals will keep our bodies healthy.
Mrs Cavanagh set us the challenge of creating a plate of food that was healthy out of collage materials, she was very impressed by our efforts and they are on the wall around our science display.
