Yesterday Derby County Community Trust visited year three to talk about resilience. The children were given a challenge to throw a counter to land in a plastic cup in the middle of the table. This proved to be much harder than it looked and it began the thinking about resilience and not giving up. Some children found this experience very frustrating as try as they might the counter wouldn't land in the cup. Many kept trying and eventually success was had by most. Our visitors then talked about how this applies to every day activities in school and at home and how having resilience and a positive attitude gives us the strategies to 'have another go'. They will be visiting us each week till half term and we look forward to finding out more about resilience.
