Primary Orienteering

Published on 28 March 2019

4KC all took part in a primary orienteering event at Darley Park.

The class were split up into 4 teams and were then faced with the orienteering course around the park. All teams were given 45 minutes to find as many clues as possible using only the map as their guide.

On returning from the orienteering course each team had an A-Z of things to find around the park as well as a scavenger hunt to complete.

Points were alloocated for the number of clues found, and time faults were given if teams were not back at the pavillion within their alloted time.

With 16 teams taking part the results were as follows:

St Peter's team 2 scored 40 points finishing in 8th place overall

St Peter's team 3 scored 38 points finishing 9th overall

St Peter's team 4 scored 35 points finishing in joint 10th overall

St Peter's team 1 scored 18 points finishinh in 15th place overall.

Everybody had a fun afternoon and improved their geographical and team building skills at the same time.

Well done 4KC!
