Year 5 - A taste of Spain 2007/2008
To celebrate European Day of Languages on the 26th of September year 5 studied Spanish. They began the day leaning all about where Spain is and what it is like there. Following this the children quickly learnt Spanish greetings and held brief conversations, counting to ten came next, and how to add and subtract numbers in Spanish. The children were then taught the Spanish version of Heads, shoulders, knees and toes which they absolutely loved! The afternoon session saw year 5 studying the Spanish artist Picasso and creating a piece of colourful artwork in his style.
The following morning the children presented much of what they had learnt during collective worship. The children of year 5 certainly enjoyed their taste of Spanish and are continuing to greet each other and even answer the register using what they have learnt!!
