Year 5 - Maths Week 2007/2008

Year 5 - Maths Week 2007/2008 5H and 5C spend an exciting week looking at a variety of problems and puzzles linked to different areas of maths. They were set domino puzzles, challenges with interlocking cubes, shapes puzzles and became detectives for the day when answering worded problems. The pupils also used brand new sensor equipment to read temperatures and plot graphs.

The maths orienteering kept them fit whilst at the same time answering mental maths questions and the newly refurbished ICT suite enabled them to learn about measurements, angles and co-ordinates in a fun and exciting way!

A big thank you to all the parents who attended Fridays open session- the children loved showing off all they had learnt and challenging the adults to solve the problems too- we hope you also learnt something along the way!

So another fun week had by year 5, and as one child put it- I thought maths week would be boring but it has been really exciting and I did not even realise I had been doing any maths. I have learnt maths is fun!!
